Wisp is a ghost in the Creature Crossing series. He get-go appeared in Animal Crossing and appears in all subsequent games except Brute Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: New Leaf prior to the Welcome amiibo update. He appears at night, usually between 12 AM and iv AM, and rewards the histrion with items or services after a specific chore is completed.
Appearances [edit]
In Animal Crossing [edit]
In Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+, Wisp is depicted wearing a hitaikakushi and can appear in a random acre between 12 AM and 4 AM. In order for Wisp to appear, the town must have eight or more weeds. In one case this requirement is met, Wisp will appear on a random dark in two to 4 days. The weed requirement does not take to be maintained between meeting it and Wisp'due south advent. When the player offset enters the acre where Wisp is, he is non visible, only makes himself known by calling out to the histrion. With Wisp's name appearing every bit "??????", he says "Ooo... Can I inquire you something...?" If the player gets virtually Wisp, he tells the player that he must collect five Spirits that have wandered into the town by 4 AM or he is in big problem and The Ghost League will punish him horribly. He asks the player to catch them with a Internet considering he has seen how good the histrion is at catching insects and offers a reward in return. Wisp will return every night for 4 days until his Spirits are defenseless and returned to him. In one case his Spirits are returned or 4 days laissez passer without doing so, Wisp will appear once more in 2 to iv days as long as the town has 8 or more weeds.
Each Wisp Spirit is placed in a different acre and does not movement between acres. All the same, the game internally categorizes the Spirits as insects, meaning, due to the fact that having a low town rating drops the chance that a fish and insect spawn in an acre to as low equally 50% chance each, information technology is possible in a town with low rating that a Spirit will not spawn when its acre is entered. If this happens, the Spirit is relocated to a new random acre and the adventure of it spawning is calculated once again when that acre is entered. The Spirits initially only announced within acres in the B, C, D, or E rows; merely can announced in any acre, including ones within the A and F rows, if they are relocated due to the role player either leaving an acre without catching ane or low town rating. Spirits cannot appear in an acre where another Spirit resides or where the role player is moving into.
After the player catches and returns the five Spirits, Wisp will offer them one of three rewards equally thanks:
- Pull weeds! - Wisp will remove all the weeds in the player'due south boondocks.
- Pigment my roof! - Wisp will repaint the roof of the player'due south business firm to a color of their choosing.
- Give me stuff! - Wisp will give the player a random particular that they have non obtained earlier, which tin can be whatsoever reorderable furniture, wallpaper, carpet, clothing, umbrella, stationery, or any of the following non-reorderable items: Wendell'southward wallpapers, Saharah's carpets, Gracie's vesture, or Gyroids. If the role player has obtained all of these items, Wisp instead gives them a Peach.
In Urban center Folk [edit]
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, on sure nights the player can detect an Empty Lamp somewhere in the boondocks. Afterwards the thespian finds the lamp and returns it to Wisp, the genie will ask the histrion to rub the lamp in their attic, where he will offer to grant them one wish. The player does not accept to rub the lamp straight away, and tin can save the wish for later use. As in his original appearance, Wisp volition offering three choices:
- Weed! - Wisp volition remove all the weeds in the player'south town, excluding clovers and dandelions.
- Smash Roaches! - Wisp will remove all the Cockroaches in the player'due south house.
- Give me stuff! - Wisp will give the histrion the choice of a random article of furniture, accompaniment, hat or vesture item. Usually this is an detail that is not currently in the catalog (excluding rare items).
In Welcome amiibo [edit]
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, a Magic Lamp will announced randomly while walking around town. If the thespian places the lamp in their house, Wisp will announced. Unlike Beast Crossing and Animal Crossing: City Folk, Wisp helps with amiibo. Wisp can simply exist used once a day. While Wisp did not appear in Animal Crossing: New Leaf at the game'due south launch, he was added as a major grapheme in the Welcome amiibo update. When the thespian rubs the lamp, Wisp will announced and the histrion tin apply an amiibo card. When the amiibo is scanned, the player can choose for the villager to move to their town or to get something, usually article of furniture.
If a special graphic symbol's amiibo is scanned, that character's RV will announced at the campground with special items that can exist bought with MEOW Coupons. Wisp will take over running buildings if the usual proprietors are in their RVs; however, he will not be able to fulfill some roles, such equally Isabelle's, preventing the role player from using their services for the day. If the Villager amiibo is scanned, Wisp will appear at the campground in an RV.
If the thespian attempts to sell the Magic Lamp at Re-Tail, Reese will inform them that the lamp is valuable and will enquire if they are sure they desire to sell information technology. If the thespian sells it anyway, Reese will buy it for x Bells and it volition reappear outside the next mean solar day.
In New Horizons [edit]
In Creature Crossing: New Horizons, Wisp returns to a course closer to his original advent, in one case once more donning a hitaikakushi. On certain nights from 8 PM to five AM, the player tin can notice Wisp wandering around the island. If talked to, Wisp will error the actor as a ghost and go scared, which leads to his 5 Wisp Spirit Pieces handful across the island. As of version one.5.0 of the game, performing the "Haunt" reaction in Wisp'south line of sight will trigger the same effect. Similarly to Fauna Crossing, the role player can discover and grab the five spirits using the Net and render them to Wisp. After the spirits are returned, Wisp will offer the thespian the choice of receiving an item they have not had before or something expensive.
